My personal thanks to those who attended last evening’s meet-up, the highlight of which was an intense, wide-ranging conversation about The Boston Globe. The fallout from the newspaper industry going belly up was passionately discussed, including how this would impact other journalistic entities like, for example, WBUR.

My previous post got me to thinking about another popular show and its connection with 90.9. And that connection goes beyond the obvious. You may have heard of the program, a modest little show out of Chicago (or is it NYC?) called “This American Life.” Yeah, I imagine you’ve heard of it.

Speaking of On Point… There was a historic first today: Tom Ashbrook read a Tweet on-air. Wow. Will wonders never cease? I see that their number of followers is growing exponentially. I am not surprised, given the program’s popularity, but I am a tad jealous. Follow them here: @onpointradio.
