Consider this my plea for help.
As I don’t want to monopolize the conversation in this space, might I be able to convince some public radio connoisseurs and/or new media hipsters to blog here from time to time? Or at the very least help seed topics and respond to comments?
To be frank, the pay isn’t all that swell, consisting primary of whatever public broadcasting schwag can be conjured out of “the magic closet,” a tour of the station, and lunch at one of the Hub’s finer dining establishments—on second thought, strike “finer”—located on picturesque Commonwealth Avenue. And the pièce de résistance: a link to your blog.
And if those inducements aren’t sufficient, consider the pride you’ll feel seeing your carefully crafted prose in this space.
And just exactly what should I be writing about, you might ask?
That is largely up to you.
Not interested in: political opinion-mongering, corporate sales jobs, puffed-up press releases, WBUR-bashing (obviously) et cetera. Beyond that the field is pretty wide open. Topics can be as far-ranging as the public media/public broadcasting divide (perhaps including a critique of our new media initiatives) or an interesting story from your neck of the woods.
More of a visual person you say? Then how about expressing your thoughts through photos or video that we could somehow showcase in the blog?
More the administrative type? I need someone to keep things humming along by monitoring conversational threads, answering questions, deleting spam in the queue, suggesting topics, and other related tasks (someone to spell-check my copy would spare me considerable embarrassment!).
