I must be crazy for rewarding people for criticizing us. Perhaps so.
Regardless, here it goes:
Take a long, hard look at wbur.org and affiliated websites.
A good, long, hard look.
Crank up the zoom to gnat-knee resolution. Carefully scan for hairline fissures and cracks. Then zoom out and click on everything to see where it takes you. Perhaps you could try to locate some basic station and programming information. Was the journey a direct or circuitous one, or a thankless road to nowhere?
And then, fellow online diagnosticians, give us your unvarnished assessments.
Was the site easy to navigate? Did the stream work as advertised? Did you happen across any busted links? Does the design hold up? And what exactly do I mean by “affiliated websites”? Everything and anything is fair game.
Now is the rare opportunity for you to vent those long-simmering website pet peeves. So fire way! And give us both barrelsful as you do.
And for those who are really ambitious, tell us what other public broadcasting websites really nail it.
By week’s end I intend to reward one of you with a Car Talk mug (presuming of course, the recipient is a Click ‘n Clack fan). For the curious, the highly scientific selection methodology involves me pulling strips of paper out of my beat-up Red Sox cap (video to follow).
