Tanned, rested (well, not really), and raring to go (almost).
Please excuse the prolonged lapse in blogging. File under “best laid plans.”
Will Roseliep, my back-up blogger, was so consumed with his On Point internship responsibilities during a very harried week leading up to the coronation as well as that paid gig (the nerve!), he couldn’t find the time to grace us with his insights. Our loss.
And while dolphins, seals, other various and sundry sea life, and miles of knuckle-whitening, pea-soup-thick fog-enshrouded coastline were among the sites I took in, the inside of KQED was not, due to poor planning on my part and an unshakable case of jet lag. So sorry, no digital public broadcasting insights gleaned from this trip. Maybe next time … I am due out there again in December.
So what’s new to report other then my return to the saddle? Shameless plug time: This way to WBUR’s convention coverage. Also, I will be trying to up the Tweets a little more this week to talk about you know what. Of course, if you get bored with you know what, please interject with whatever change of topic the muse so inspires.
Topic suggestion: If you were the hypothetical general manager of a hypothetical public radio station in a hypothetical major market and you could make one hypothetical web hire, what would the position be? A social media guru? An online editor? Someone on the biz end of things?
The Tweeted responses are very revealing. And sorry, but no, we are not currently hiring.
See ya on Twitter.
