It’s been roughly two years and three months since I uploaded 90.9’s first video to YouTube: A grainy, slightly jerky shot of a curator at the ICA talking about the roomier exhibition space and collections at the museum’s new waterfront venue. I tagged along with a reporter to try my hand at some impromptu videography. Now, it’s often a reporter or producer who is shooting the video.
Since that December day, the account has grown to 121 videos (as I type this). Small, yes, compared to some of our larger media contemporaries, but nonetheless gratifying to see the station leverage this space to distribute our content and brand. And while the videos are not as smoothly polished as what you hear on air, they can be pretty compelling. Case in point.
Now to get reporters some of those Flip video cams….
